Choose blocks that explain the work

A useful brief combines a short narrative with the right supporting structure. Build an example page with headings, lists, a collapsible explanation and precise technical detail. Use the visible insertion and selection menus, then check the finished page as a reader would.

In this guide
  1. Make the structure visible
  2. Choose the right kind of list
  3. Keep supporting detail close
  4. Write precise technical detail
  5. Review the page as a reader

01

Make the structure visible

Place the cursor in an empty paragraph and type /. Choose Heading 1 for the main topic and Heading 2 or Heading 3 for supporting sections. Write a short paragraph below each heading before adding another block. Insert Table of Contents from the same menu, then use its entries to check that the headings form a useful route through the document.

02

Choose the right kind of list

Use Bullet List for independent observations and Numbered List when order matters. For a small page-level review, insert Task List and write one checkable statement per item. Tick an item and confirm its visual state changes. These checkboxes stay in the document; when an action needs task tracking, select its text and use Create issue from selection instead.

03

Keep supporting detail close

Insert Toggle List for background that readers may skip on their first pass. Give the summary a meaningful name, add the explanation inside, and test both expanded and collapsed states. Use Blockquote for a statement that needs to stand apart from the narrative. Place Horizontal Rule between major sections only where the break helps a reader understand the change of topic.

04

Write precise technical detail

Choose Code Block from the slash menu for a multiline example and paste a small, readable snippet. For inline code, select a term and choose Code in the selection toolbar. To add a formula, select its text and open Latex, enter the expression, and inspect the rendered result. Keep the surrounding paragraph explicit about what the example or formula explains.

05

Review the page as a reader

Read the page from its outline, opening only the details needed to follow the argument. Remove blocks that repeat nearby prose and shorten list items that contain several decisions. In the offline document experience, Image and Attach file can add supporting evidence stored on this device. Reopen the page after saving to confirm headings, checklist states and collapsible content remain usable.

What you will have

A readable page whose headings, lists and technical examples each serve a clear purpose.
