Export writing and reuse a page structure

Choose a useful copy for the next reader: Markdown for text or a print view for a readable handout. Check the exported result before sharing it. Then explore the available ways to reuse a page’s structure and keep supporting files with the writing where those options are supported.

In this guide
  1. Take a text copy with Markdown
  2. Make a readable print or PDF copy
  3. Recognise the offline portable-copy route
  4. Verify an imported offline copy
  5. Reuse a built-in structure where supported
  6. Keep local files and their versions understandable

01

Take a text copy with Markdown

Open the document and choose Copy Markdown in the focus header, or Copy as Markdown on its canvas toolbar. Paste into a text editor and inspect headings, lists, code and tables. The table conversion uses the first row as Markdown labels. Review the result before sharing: a text conversion does not preserve every visual layout or package local attachment files.

03

Recognise the offline portable-copy route

The following portable-copy, template and attachment steps apply to an already configured offline workspace. In the current live workspace, use Copy Markdown or Print / PDF to take a copy. Under Files and export → Portable document copy, Export copy downloads the page, its details and attached file versions as JSON. Comments and page history remain with the original.

04

Verify an imported offline copy

In the offline workspace, use Import copy and select a Boilerrum export JSON file. Import creates a new page rather than replacing the open one. Compare its title, body and page details with the source, then open representative attachments. Existing page links still identify their referenced destinations, so inspect them before treating the imported page as a self-contained project archive.

05

Reuse a built-in structure where supported

In that offline workspace, open Page details and actions → New subpage and review Title and Template. Choose Blank page, Meeting notes, Product requirements, Decision record or Retrospective, then Create subpage. The template inserts editable headings and paragraphs. For the current live workspace, create a blank page through Documents and write the same section headings manually.

06

Keep local files and their versions understandable

For offline pages, Attach file accepts supported PDF, DOCX, text and image files up to 20 MB each. Select an attachment in Files and export to inspect File version, Download or Upload new version. PDF, image and text previews help verification; DOCX is downloaded for a word processor. Files are kept on this device, so download the needed version before moving the work elsewhere.

What you will have

A verified copy in the format you need, with clear expectations about templates, local files and excluded history.
